-
- Dear MADA Member: [or should that be "Yo, MADA Member:" :-)]
-
- A few important items for your information:
-
- 1) We are always looking for experienced MacApp developers who are willing to
- take a little time periodically to answer a novice's MacApp questions. People
- who are not on AppleLink really have nowhere to turn for help with their
- questions. When a member who is not on AppleLink calls the MADA office for
- assistance, we try to refer them to a volunteer member who can answer their
- question. Is this something that would interest you? We would be delighted to
- add your name to our list of referral resources. Just link MADA. WE ARE
- PARTICULARLY IN NEED OF EXPERIENCED C++ PROGRAMMERS WHO CAN ANSWER QUESTIONS.
-
- 2) Mark your calendar! Our first MacApp Conference is scheduled for February
- 5-9 at the San Diego DoubleTree Inn. Beginner and intermediate workshops and
- tutorials are planned for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. General conference
- sessions will be held Thursday and Friday. Costs will be $125 per full-day
- workshop or tutorial ($180 non-members) and $250 for the two-day general
- sessions ($360 non-members). These costs include registration, materials,
- continental breakfast and lunch. General conference sessions also include one
- dinner (Thursday evening). Hotel and airfare not included. The program is
- being finalized now and you should be receiving a conference brochure and
- registration material in the mail in about two or three weeks. There are still
- openings for workshop and tutorial instructors---if you are interested in
- leading a workshop or tutorial, contact the MADA office or Dave Wilson, (415)
- 494-6763 or ALink WILSON6. If you would like to demo a MacApp-based
- application or present a paper, contact Tony Meadow, (415) 644-9400 or ALink
- D0068.
-
- 3) And finally, a "thank you" to all of you who responded to the MacApp Survey.
- The response has been great---and they're still coming in. If you haven't yet
- returned your survey, please take a few minutes and do it now. The
- results-to-date will be covered briefly in the January issue of FrameWorks, and
- reported in full in the March issue. (We'd like to do the full report in the
- January issue, but that issue goes to the printer next week, and we want to
- wait to include as many responses as possible.)
